THREE BASICS of Jehovah-dumb
by Terry inkeep this one fact in mind about jehovah's witnesses.
they exist in three dumb categories throughout their history.. 1. honest bible students attracted to the gimmicks of russell (charts, graphs, chronologies, pyramid inches, etc.
) expected the end of the world to come and they wanted to know more.. 2.contrarian hard heads under rutherford wanted to prove everybody was wrong about everything except themselves.

IS it possible that Paul was just a failed Pharisee that
by confusedandalone insaw an opening?.
if we look at christianity it appears that pauls teaching are what formulate it and not jesus.
paul often contradicts the words that are "supposedly" spoken by jesus repeatedly.

I saw a Joseph Atwill video the other day about Rome inventing Jesus (which I cant now find to liink to), who was modelled on Titus, intersting stuff though I wasnt buying into it just yet, I need to read a lot more and see where it goes...
I think Paul may well have been a stooge of Rome if that is the case.

Since leaving the truth, do you celebrate holidays, and does your participation in such bring you happiness?
by Stand for Pure Worship ini ask this respectfully, and do so after watching a favorite show of mine's season opener which had a new years storyline.
hollywood tends to make movies and television show episodes centered around holiday themes appear warm and blissful.
while i'm thankful to have never participated in such holidays, i can't deny my curiosity about ex-jws that do celebrate.

I cant see me ever falling in with it either as i know it's all bullshit and if there is one thing I hate, it's a hypocrite. So no, I cant see me ever "celebrating" Christmas or Easter when I know it's all bollocks. This has more to do with me not believing in God or Jesus etc than with my JW upbringing and the associated baggage that comes with that.
New years I can see some sense in so maybe, birthdays quite possibly.

by cofty invillagegirl's question on another thread was probably supposed to be rhetorical but i want to respond to it.. many times people of faith express similar misapprehensions about those who don't share their views on eternity.. i want this to be a positive thread.
an opportunity for atheists to share what moves and inspires them.

We are not trees
by Rip ingot a stengthening committee coming in yesterday and i lashed down the bomb.. honestly, without fear i pointed out all contradictons with reference to the july 15 watchtower,.
the first article about sheep and goats, killing the year 1914 (that was a good move) and then ressussitating it in the next article about wheat and weeds( i said this is an irresponsible writing) and attempting to re emphasize it in the rest of the following article.
outrageous, dishonest and irresponsible.

Could there really be something to the UFO phenomena? Amazing documentary
by yadda yadda 2 init's easy to just poo-poo the ufo thing, especially if you're naturally very skeptical after your jw experience as i am, but when you see documentary's like this it seems undeniable that some kind of inexplicable phenomenon is occuring.

could vehement deniars of the ufo phenomenon please suspend their criticisms until they've at least watched the whole documentary, to be fair to others who are more open-minded on this subject.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjismjxshpg.

Well that's a bitch, sorry man unless you have backups of important stuff then it's gone.
Just to state the blindingly obvious....Always backup important files, the more important they are then make more than one backup and on different media, cloud, another computer, spare hard drive, DVDs, if the files are small then email them to yourself on more than one account etc etc.

All those times Jehovah answered my prayers...
by Julia Orwell in...and granted me strength, friends, a job, whatever...was all either through my own effort alone or sheer luck.. i wanted a government job so i prayed for one and went out looking for one every day for ages and made a heap of applications...and got one.
my own effort.. i wanted a friend and prayed for one, crying myself to sleep with loneliness.....and after 6 months in the new congregation someone reached out to me.
chance.. i prayed to be able to stand up to my family when they put pressure on me about christmas etc...my own cult conditioning so strong.. i prayed to find a nice husband...luck when i moved congregations and one of those sisters who just has to match make introduced us.

Almost never, and the single time I felt i got an answer it was like yours on reflection just chance, circumstances etc with no external supernatural cause.
God sucks at his job or maybe he's too busy helping born agains find their keys or win at sports?
